Warren Buffet invests in solar

Warren Buffett's MidAmerican Energy Holdings buys a $2 billion solar farm in San Luis Obispo County. The solar farm will be built and operated by First Solar.
The industry now hopes, that other investors will follow Buffet.

Here's the answer why Buffet - and others like Google as well - invest in solar pv.

We should open our eyes. Noone invests in solar because it's good and nice for the environment. Investment means to invest money in order to get more money out of it (Return on Investment = ROI). If these investements are good for the environment and do some "green washing", even better. If not, so what the hack?

I don't see anything negative about investing in solar because of a good return on investment. I like the message that comes with this fact: It is worth investing into solar and it is sustainable and good for the environment as well. Let's hope that more and more investors can be found when they see that even big players invest into renewable energies. The winner will be the global environment.
